Week 8

OK...so last post was posted a WEEK late....life has been crazy on my end. So not to confuse anyone I actually just ended week 8...going on to week 9 AND still going strong! WOOOOO...ok...actually not sure if I should be excited for feel sad about this,ha. Anyways let's get down to what I wore this past week!

Sunday...bloody Sunday. Normally I would be documenting my Saint apparel here but I actually got caught up in cleaning the house that I just never put anything on. So none for you!

Jacket: Local purchase // Shirt: Target //Necklace: Charming Charlie // Pants: JCP

Monday's outfit-I will have to post a picture of the back of this jacket sometime. It has some really pretty lace type embroidery. Totally makes the jacket. Couldn't figure out what to pair underneath it so threw on a purple shirt with an awesome purple necklace from Charming Charlie.

Pants: Express (editor) // Shirt: Local department store

So I use to be in love with this shirt. The lace detail on the top I felt really added a touch or sense of sophistication, but I never really wore it often. I put it on for this outfit after a year plus of not wearing it and am just over it. So it's going up for sell. Those pants though, those pants- LOVE THEM. Got them at a thrift store but they are actually from Express. They fit amazing! They just need to be hemmed so you can see/tell that I really have feet.

Sweater: Express // Jeans: American Eagle // Shoes: Shoe Dazzle

Tuesday night was date night. Saw the movie, "This is Where I leave you"- I really recommend this one. Of course this was another opportunity to wear some new articles of clothing. I paired it with these awesome flared jeans from American Eagle that I got an eBay. I really love these, they fit great. Paired with an awesome pair of studded heels and a purple cowl neck sweater that was given to me from the Express.

Shirt: American Eagle // Pants: JCP

This picture doesn't do the shirt justice. It's from American Eagle and is a really pretty pink pinstripe shirt. It looks awesome with a white lace cami and some jewelry.

Shirt: Limited Too // Skirt: Victoria's Secret

Pencile Skirt Thursday!!! OK going to let you in on a little secret here-Victoria's Secret has some of the B E S T work clothes out there. I highly recommend their pants and skirts. For me they seem to be pretty true to size as well.  I love this whole outfit and always feel really great when I wear the outfit. Shoes, however, not sure the brand but just hurt my feet. They hurt my feet because they don't fit right so they are going up for sale.

Tank: Old Navy // Skirt: The Loft // Sandals: Target

I was in a hurry this morning as I had to get my cars oil changed. I was having horrendous hot flashes and knew this outfit, with a cardigan over to keep it work appropriate, would be just what I needed.

Week 7 and still going

I am a little amazed that I am on week 7 and still no end in site. Also a little sad by that fact to, I obviously have a clothes problem.

Shirt: Nike // Jeans: American Eagle

Aw football Sunday. What a great, glorious day...of course if your team wins. The day I wore this outfit they didn't win. The shirt is one of my favorites. Super comfortable. The jeans I had forgotten about.  I tend to gravitate towards a darker wash. I am glad I wore them though, super comfortable and went great with the top.

Shirt: Forever 21 // Pants: local store

Work wear...I have had these brown pants forever. They are the only solid brown dress pants I have. I own a ton of black, but only one in brown. I gravitate towards black and dark color for work some reason. The shirt is also old. Had for years....I like it, but not in love. Not sure if I should keep it or not. I feel good in it, but again, there is something here I am not sure about.

Shirt: JCP // Pants: Victoria's Secret

I loved this outfit. These pants hang in my closet and have only been worn a handful of times. I always forget about them. The fit is really well. They have been hemmed but I have lost weight so they are a little slimmer around my waist, hence them hiding my feet. A belt will fix that. The sweater from JCP last year. Felt it went well with the pinstripes.

Shirt: NY & CO // Skirt: Forever 21

This outfit was just OK. OK enough to make me wonder if I get rid of both items or keep. On the fence about both. Top from NY & CO and bottom from Forever 21 years ago. I like the top and think I'll keep it. It just doesn't go well with this skirt. The skirt...eh...I like it but you can see how wrinkly it gets. Doesn't look the best by the end of the day.

Dress: Target

Love this dress and it has POCKETS. Got it on clearance at Target earlier this year. It was a steal. Sometimes items are in clearance areas but they aren't really clearance prices..I find that a lot with Target clothes. However, this was a good price and so I could totally justify it!

Top: Forever 21 // Jeans: American Eagle // Shoes: Target

Went to the movies that night so took it as an opportunity to wear some different items. Wore some skinny jeans which after wearing was determined they should go. Really loose fit and just didn't create a nice silhouette on me. I paired it with this KISS baseball shirt that I got at Forever 21 last year. I LOVE this shirt but it's big on me and I fear I need to get rid of it. I don't feel comfortable wearing it because I know it isn't fitted enough to look good. Decisions, decisions. I paired it with some patent, black peep toes from Target to dress it up a bit.

Top: Target // Pants: Old Navy // Shoes: Target
Red Pants Friday!!! I ordered these a few weeks ago and couldn't wait to wear them!!! These are Old Navy's Pixie Pants. These are actually the ankle length ones BUT I bought them in a regular fit vs petite so they are like regular pants on me, ha! Love this fit, love the color. I am actually contemplating buying some more in different colors. They have a houndstooth print...I am a SUCKER for houndstooth. I paired it with a simple black shirt from Target and my amazing leopard flats from them as well. It was a great outfit for casual Friday. The pants are perfect to for casual Friday but can easily be dressed up to be work appropriate Monday-Thursday.

Shirt: Target // Capris: American Eagle // Sandals: Target

Saturday, finally! Such a long week with alot of things happening. It was game day for the Huskers and we were going out to watch it at a local sports bar. I don't have a TON of Husker gear so I felt justified to get a few new items. Brian was nice enough to buy them for me. Going there I had to wear a different outfit then what I would wear that night. I wore a stripped shirt I got at Target a long time ago, some American Eagle capris and the amazing white sandals I got at Target.

Shirt: Husker Hounds // Capris: American Eagle // Sandals: Target

Off to Husker Hounds we went so I could get some new gear.  So enter the newest shirt..."Fear the Fro". Kenny Bell is a wide receiver for the Huskers. He has the most glorious hair. At a local store, Husker Hounds, found this shirt in the kids section. I looked allll over the store to see if they had some in the mens or womens, but no. I went back to the kids and found a size big enough to fit me-bonus-since it was a kid shirt it was CHEAPER. I also found an awesome shirt you'll see featured on the blog in a few weeks I'm sure for only $10. I finished the outfit off with the same capris and sandals I wore earlier that day.

I do have to apologize for the mess you see in the back of the pictures. Those are clothes I will be getting rid of but have been so busy haven't had time to take pictures and start pushing them out. Soon they won't be there anymore, I promise!

Six weeks and going

Still going strong, though there have a been few instances I have REALLY wanted to go back to comfortable and familiar. This week while cleaning out my closet I realized how bad my clothing problem was. What is a normal, acceptable amount of clothing for one to have hanging in their closet?? Anyone?? I counted mine and came to 120 and STOPPED there. I probably had 10-15 more pieces to count. The sad part is what's in my closet doesn't account for: sleep wear, jeans, work pants/skirts, regular cotton t-shirts (ones I get from running and cycling), camis, workout apparel, dresses, tank tops, or coats/jackets/fleeces. I love clothes. It's who I am and who I have always been. I don't foresee it changing but I do realize if I am genuinely not going to wear something then it just needs to go, end of story, so with that I started becoming more cut throat with what I was getting rid/selling and honestly it felt good. I know more will come to as I go further into this.

Really, I know I should NEVER ever complain about having nothing to wear because point blank that is obviously not true.

Jersey: NFL Pro Shop // Leggings: JCP- Similar
So going strong on week 6 I started the week on Sunday sporting my customized New Orleans Saints jersey (WHO DAT!). It obviously did not bring me the good juju I needed for the team, but hey, it was another article of clothing I can now check off of wearing! My nickname is Meg-Lovin...along time ago when Super Bad came out I photo shopped a picture of myself in McLovin's Hawaii driver's license and changed McLovin to MegLovin....and so a nickname was born. It has stuck with me since. I paired it some leggings that had some studs on the side and also zip. It was a great, comfortable look to watch them lose in womp womp.

Cardigan: Old Navy // Dress: Local Store- Similar //Shoes: ShoeDazzle
I really like this dress. It's a pretty dress and good fit for my body type. However, I am not in LOVE with this dress and have been having those feelings for awhile so I decided it's time to sell it. You will find it posted over my "For Sale" page. I paired it with a matching cardigan from Old Navy and some kitten heel peep toe shoes from Shoe Dazzle. Skipped on jewelry for the day.

Dress: JCP //Shoes: ShoeDazzle

Cold front is getting ready to move in but I am making my best effort to squeeze a few remaining dresses in. I love this pink dress and even the people at Subway loved it (thanks for the compliment Subway!). I always feel that this dress looks good with a brown pair of shoes. I debated on switching it up to neutral but really wasn't feeling it. It has a tie belt and POCKETS!!!! I LOVE POCKETS!!! Plus it's essentially a polka-dot dress another love of mine. I have been pretty sick this week so makeup and jewelry has been minimal if at all.

Dress: Candies // Cardigan: Express // Shoes: Target

This will probably be the last spring/summer dress you see. I really had to squeeze this one in because the day I wore it I was freezing!!! I have a few other Spring/Summer dresses but I have worn those throughout the Summer and know I will wear them again next year. So this dress, I love. The skirt is a little more fully and just makes me happy. Something about it screams Easter to me too. Not sure what it is but there is something. I tried REALLY hard to make this more of a Fall outfit. I paired it with close toe brown flats, a burnt orange cardigan and some jewelry to match. I, again, got lots of compliments on this one but I feel it still was saying I am a SPRING dress. It got it's wear in and will retire until warm or luke warmer days.

Pants: JCP // Shirt: Gap // Shoes: Target

Went really casual on this day. Wore another pair of black slacks I have from JCP with some closed toe black pumps from Target and a animal print shirt from the Gap. I love this shirt-it's super comfortable and warm. However...the color is a blue...and it seems to bleed whenever it's wet. My hair was wet for a bit while I wore this and one side of this is just kind of bleeding through the shirt. I am going to keep it but I think it'll be downgraded to a lounging shirt.

Top: Old Navy // Jeans: American Eagle // Shoes: ShoeDazzle

DeJa Vu? I ordered this sweater the past week from Old Navy when I also bought these AMAZING red pants which you will see eventually. This sweater looks so much like the sweater worn the previous day. It makes sense since Gap and Old Navy are from the same company. This sweater though was "sweater" material where the previous day was more of a sweatshirt material. Loved it and am hoping to get through my remaining pieces of clothing so that I can wear it more. Paired it with some jeans from from American Eagle which are super worn in but so comfortable I don't want to give them up. Topped with or better phrased- bottomed off with some really cute booties I bought from ShoeDazzle a few years ago.

Top: Local Store // Jeans: Victoria's Secret // Boots: Target

Go Big Red!!! Seriously I was so tired by the end of the game but was so worth staying up for. Here was my Saturday attire supporting my team!! Now off to start week 7!

Recapping week 5

Week 5 came and went and I powered through with again a different outfit a day. I am starting to realize I really do have to many clothes. I normally try to get rid of a piece each time I buy a piece, but I am now seeing that isn't enough. I am going to set up a separate page on this blog to start selling items. I will post once it's up- but be sure to keep an eye out for it!

I am not feeling the best today but need this blog up, so let's get down to business.

(Dress: JCP-Similar Dress/Shawl: Local store-Similar Shawl/ Shoes: ShoeDazzle-Similar Shoes)

I love this dress and it has pockets. Just like my one Jessica Simpson dress, I am a sucker for pockets. Aside from that though...everything else is going. I need a good, solid black cardigan. I am not crazy about the one pictured here. The way it drapes makes me appear bigger then I am and the sleeves are a little short. Yes, insane, they are short on my t-rex arms. Mind blowing, I know. I also need to get some shoes that fit. These pink shoes while I love and are suppose to be my true size don't fit. You can see clearly in the pictures they are to big. The shoes and black shawl will be going up for sale.

(Pants: Victoria's Secret- Similar /Shirt: Victoria's Secret/ Shoes: Target-Similar /Watch: Charming Charlie-Similar)

Love this outfit-plus the top can go great with some jeans as well for outside of work.  Styled with some open toe shoes, was a great work outfit. Pants are a really great fit. Both shirt and shirt from Victoria's Secret. Styled it with a simple watch, necklace, and some stud earrings and open toe black shoes from where else but Target. I will say-these pants by VS are amazing, I have a few others (that don't include the parachute pants) and the fit is just amazing, highly recommend them!

(Pants: JCP/ Shirt-Victoria's Secret-Similar/Shoes-Target-Similar)

Kept Wednesday's theme going on into Thursday. I have a shirt like yesterday, but with a different print so wore it as well. I so rarely wear my button up shirts so figured I would keep the theme going.  Styled with some closed toe stilettos, not to high, and super comfortable. Paired this with my pearls. I love the look of the pearls with the pinstriping in the shirt.

(Dress-Local store/Cardigan-JCP-similar)

Friday!!! Woo...now even though it is casual Friday I wanted to wear a dress. I have had this dress in the back of my mind. It is one piece dress, the bottom is a dark demin-ish material/color. Top is black with some ruffles around the cleavage area. It is a really cute dress and a really cute fit, it is though, to short on me. I had been thinking about it and figured there is only one good way to figure if it needs to go, wear it, so wear it I did. I will be sad to see this one go, but I don't wear it ever because it doesn't ( I feel) look right on me because of the length. I paired it with the black flats I recently bought and a polka dot cardigan. The cardigan didn't go to well with it, but it served it's purpose of keeping me warm.

(Shirt-Target/Skirt-Stitch Fix/Shoes-DSW-similar/Necklace-Charming Charlie)

Friday night I was going to the Eagle's concert (which was amazing! If you have a chance to see them-DO IT!) which meant I could wear a different outfit. I was dieing to wear my new Stitch Fix skirt and it was a bit chilly out that evening that I could totally justify it. I liked the skirt when I got it but wasn't head over heels with it. However, after wearing it, I am totally in love with it!!! I need to go through my closet faster so I can wear this more! I paired it with a mustard long sleeve shirt from target. Stitch Fix had it paired with a similar colored shirt on their styling card. I paired it with some some black tights, the most adorable oxfords from DSW, and a tear drop necklace from Charming Charlie. So in love with this outfit!
